The People Meters

The People Meters are produced by AGB Tech, which is also an AGB Group company, responsible for the development of meter technology. A people meter is installed for each TV set of the households, and monitors the time, the status of the set (on/off), the station viewed, and who is watching.

The information on which station is watched each minute, is monitored automatically by the system.

The information on who is watching is entered by the household members, who push their respective buttons on a special handset.

Encoded signals of analog subscription channels (e.g. in Greece Filmnet, SuperSport), as well as digital television signals are new aspects in the area of television which have been incorporated in the measurement system in order to measure reliably and accurately their viewing.
